Being a wedding photographer holds a special place in my heart.
It may be the hopeless romantic in me, but photographing weddings holds a special place in my heart. What is more inspiring that two people committing their lives together? The responsibility of capturing a couple's wedding day can not be overstated. If you are considering a photographer, ask that you be able to see ALL the photos from at least two or three ENTIRE weddings. Weddings are high-paced with lighting and conditions changing constantly. Being able to adapt to changing conditions, think on your feet and perform under pressure is one aspect that separates amateur or good photographers from excellent ones. Even though each wedding is unique and there are many variables (such as time of year, location, lighting, weather, etc..) it will give you an idea of the overall quantity and quality of photos and the photographers ability to capture great images under variable and less-than-ideal conditions. It is easy to take 2,000 photographs and pick a few to put in their portfolio but doesn't give you an honest and objective idea of the kind of photos or the quality of photos you can expect.
