Over the many years of being a professional photographer, I have became well aware of the importance of conveying interesting facial expressions while being photographed. During this time I have been honing this craft of coaching my subjects to produce both realistic and flattering facial expressions and images.
My head shot work has been published both nationally and internationally. Some clients I have worked with include; Syracuse University Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim, MacKenzie-Childs, Burger King, Carrols Restaurant Group CEO, Ed Pagano (Chief of Staff for Senator Patrick Leahy), Auston Mathews for Bauer Hockey, ProLiteracy, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Lambda Legal Defense, Aspen Dental, Freed Maxick, Miss New York and Miss New York State Queen Shelbie Handville – among many others.
During our session, I will teach you to bring out the subtleties of the human face that attract us to certain people and images. It is my goal to bring out the best in my clients and the most beautiful, creative and powerful photographs of themselves that they have ever experienced.
My goal is to take a photograph that makes you look your best. I focus on using your own natural expressions and creativity throughout the entire process. I will help guide you towards what will become a captivating head shot and portrait that is tailored specifically for you.
Here are some tips that I recommend if booking a portrait session. Keep in mind that these are just tips. If we are getting together for more casual purposes such as family or portrait for personal / social websites, then by all means feel free to express yourself with all the patterns and jewelry you wish! These tips are intended more for people who are interested in professional head shots and/or portraiture for marketing purposes.
Share your intentions for the session. Let me know what kind of look you want and where the photo will be seen.
Drink lots of water and be well rested (so your eyes will not have dark circles).
Do not drink alcohol or take any drugs directly before or the night before your shoot (so you are not dehydrated).
Arrive on time.
REMEMBER: Select and wear clothes that make you feel comfortable. Select something that makes you feel good.
Consider having at least one or two of your images from our photography session retouched. The camera and lenses I use will bring out ALL the very minute details of your face. Details that most people would never see if they were standing directly in front of you. Having professional retouching should enhance your look, NOT CHANGE your look. So while I am able to shed 150 lbs from you if you desire, I don’t usually recommend it! Retouching can be as little as $5 up to $40 depending on what you would like done.
