Photographing pregnant mothers-to-be is one of my favorite things to do as a photographer. I love the inherent joy, beauty and significance of maternity photography. There truly is a certain glow that only pregnant women possess – almost like an aura of wisdom and serenity. As a maternity photographer in Syracuse, I especially like to capture the emotion and expressions of expecting mothers.
It is just so beautiful to see the mother rubbing her belly in an affectionate way or to see the father looking at his wife’s tummy with such feeling and amazement. You can just feel the emotion behind it. Pregnancy is such a blessed and powerful miracle and I strive to provide fun, intimate and/or artistic maternity photographs during our time together. The only way to photograph a pregnancy is with a sense of awe and solemnity.
After all, a brand new person is about to be born into the world. And being able to be a part of capturing the parents’ joy and eager expectation of their soon to be newborn, is something that I love. Nothing is more fulfilling as a photographer than photographing a maternity session, then following up with a newborn photography session.
